Ballard trees

We love our neighborhood, Ballard. It has so much history, lovely people, lots of green space, and cozy tree-lined streets.

The Right to be Married?

Do you have the right to choose whether or not you want to get married?

On the ballot this November, WA State has Referendum 74, which will disintegrate domestic partnerships (which are ridiculous and do not give adequate rights to partners)  and legalize gay marriage in our state.

This right is very important to me, as I had the choice to get married while many of my friends are being told they don't have the right to be married. How is this okay?

The best way to support marriage equality is to give to Washington United for Marriage and to tell your fiends and family to vote YES on Referendum 74 this November.

A day in the life on saturday morning:
  • Make coffee
  • Drink coffee
  • Poach a couple eggs
  • Crank music to get the blood flowing
    • This morning: Kanye West' Graduation album, I Wonder
  • Clean house
  • Go for a run

kitchen variety

Because we have been looking at houses for six months sometime now, we have seen much variety in architecture and style. It is amazing when we get into  house we can "feel" it right away whether this is the house. We are always drawn to kitchen first, which is usually a good indicator of whether the "feeling" is going to hit.

I think I have a pretty good "feeling" about these kitchens below, you?

new styles

I am always looking for new ways to braid my hair. Maybe it was my mother's doing as she braided my hair everyday throughout my childhood, or maybe it is just the casual and hip look of braids. Thanks to Pinterest I have been inundated with new styles. Here are a few I have been excited to try.

seattle summer

Seattle is hands down incredible during the summer. It is our small window of sunshine, long days, and amazing skylines and views. I love this picture and though I can't claim it, I certainly claim Seattle as the best summer City!

book store turned blanket

Check out this house turned massive blanket! This is an old book store on Capitol Hill an architect turned into a piece of art. It is supposed to symbolize community by all the hands that went into creating it. Also, he used 500 pounds of yarn.
Wild, eh?

quick trip to the carnerros valley

The husband and I spent the weekend drinking wine in the Carnerros Valley of Sonoma/Napa counties. Our favs included, Domain Carrneros and Artesa Cellars. The weather was perfect for sipping, exploring, and taking photographs.
