Booka Shade

Thursday night was an all out affair with Booka Shade. My dearie, Ms. Johnson, took me on an electro-techno date to the Showbox. Laser show, younglings, and vodka complemented these danceable tracks. Ahhhhh, love me some Booka.

Ballard

One more reason Ballard, my neighborhood in Seattle, is so cool. It just made USA Today.com as one of the “Top 10 Neighborhoods Tourists haven’t found yet.” The article, posted this morning, featured Ballard alongside many well known neighborhoods in the USA including Austin’s Eastside, Boston’s Seaport District and Brooklyn’s Cobble Hill.

Ballard has such a sense of place with iconic landmarks and a quirky vibe. Here are some of my fav hangouts.

Discovery park

Ballard Famers Market

Rays Boathouse

Ballard Locks

Great place for a game of shuffleboard and  a cheap beer. Also, the oldest bar in Ballard.

Ballard Avenue

Golden Gardens

Not uncommon to stumble across amazing music at the Tractor.

Say Lou Lou

This Swedish sister duo, Say Lou Lou, is so much fun with dream pop rhythms, sweet voices, and a sound that make you want to move.

Go ahead and decide for yourself!

Seattle Blossoms

My vote is in for Seattle as the most beautiful spring city! The blossoms are in full bloom and make the Seattle sky line boisterous with color and flare. The voluptuous Magnolia Tree is my fav, closely followed by the neon yellow Forsythia, and the impossibly unnoticeable Cherry Trees.
